Scrapbook Brads for Every Paper Project

By Wilfred Luecht

Scrapbook brads are perfect for quickly adding an artistic and professional feel to all your paper craft projects.

What is a scrapbook brad?
A scrapbook brad resembles an eyelet, except the piece is of a solid design and does not have a hole in the middle like an eyelet.

What kinds are available?
Brads come in a large assortment of shapes, sizes, colors and styles. Their shapes can be letters, geometric or themes shapes, such as holidays, school, sports or animals. The brad's finish can be a shiny or matte finish. Quite often they are covered with a hard enamel.

Where can I use brads?
Brads can be useful in many paper crafts, such as scrapbook pages, invitations, announcements, gift tags and cards.

What should I look for when buying brads?
You should make sure that the are archival safe and made of non-rusting materials.

How do I apply them?
Appling a brad to your project is very simple. First punch a hole in the paper where you want the brad to be placed. Stick the prongs of the brad all the way in the hole. Then bend back the prongs and your brad is firmly attached.
